PRO BONO
At Article 1 we are committed to assisting individuals who do not have the financial means to instruct lawyers by providing them with access to justice. We work with clients, local councils, NGOs and charities to provide pro bono human rights services.
We have set aside an annual budget for pro bono work and aim to increase the budget every year. Our pro bono work in the past few years includes landmark test cases brought on behalf of Amnesty International and on behalf of the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants, applications made on behalf of victims and family members of the Grenfell Tower tragedy, members of the ‘Windrush generation’, and human rights applications on behalf of individuals from regions of the world experiencing extreme human rights violations or hardship, including (but not limited to) the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Sudan, Myanmar, and Syria.
