Government reappoints Professor Sir David Metcalf CBE as chairman of the MAC

The Migration Advisory Committee ("MAC") advises the government on migration issues and is a non-statutory, non-departmental public body sponsored by the Home Office.

The Home Secretary has confirmed that David Metcalf has been reappointed as chairman of the MAC. Professor Metcalf has been chairman of the MAC since its establishment. During this time he have been 22 reports published by MAC. Reports by the MAC are produced in response to request from the government and cover issues such as the impacts of immigration, the limits on immigration under the Points Based System and on skill shortages within occupations.
