David Davis refuses to Commit to protecting UK resident EU nationals

David Davis the Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union, has today (17 July 2016) during an interview with Sky News, refused to commit to protecting the rights of all EU nationals currently living in the UK and those proposing to come to the UK before the UK leaves the EU. He suggested that the UK may opt for a cut off date but also made it clear that was not the only route that may be taken: “One way of dealing with it could be saying ‘OK, only people who arrived before a certain date get this protection’ – there are other ways too“.
