Amendments to Tier 1 (Investor) or Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) guidance
New guidance documents issued by UK Visas and Immigration, the UK’s immigration authorities, in relation to Tier 1 (Investor) and Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) visas have been published. The new guidance documents have introduced a requirement for a criminal record certificate.
From 1 September 2015 any Tier 1 (Investor) or Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) migrants applying for an entry visa to the UK must provide an overseas criminal record certificate for any country that they have resided in continuously for 12 months or more, in the 10 years prior to their entry visa application.
Tier 1 (Investor) or Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) entry visa applicants must, from 1 September 2015, provide the following documents with their entry visa application:
- The original certificate, for each country (excluding the UK) where they have resided continuously for 12 months or more in the last 10 years, since aged 18 years old, issued by the overseas authority
- If the original certificate is not in English, a certified translation of the certificate
